Jiří Kocián
Postdoctoral Researcher
Jiří is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Russian and East European Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Senior Coordinator at the Malach Center for Visual History, Institute of Formal and Applied Linguistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, both at Charles University.
Jiří is currently a Fullbright Visiting Scholar at Fulbright Fellow at the Department of Political Science, Rutgers University, New Jersey.
Research focus
In his reasearch, Jiří focuses on populism and other issues of contemporary democracy in Central and Southeast Europe, political culture, the role of historical narratives in politics, the interplay between personal narratives and dicourses and usage of natural language processing and semantic networks in research.
