Klára Vedlichová

Junior Researcher & Office Manager


Klára Vedlichová is a Ph.D. student of Area Studies and a researcher at the Department of Russian and East European Studies at the Institute of International Studies, Charles University. She focuses on the perception of the communist regime and Nicolae Ceaușescu as well as the post-communist transformation and democratization processes in Central and Eastern Europe, primarily in Romania. Currently, she is also the event and office manager at Peace Research Center Prague.


Research Focus

Her research focuses on the perception of the communist regime and Nicolae Ceaușescu in today's society, nostalgia and transformations of memory. She is also interested in the post-communist transformation and democratization processes in Central and Eastern Europe and in the history and present of Romania. She is the co-founder of the research centre "Centre for Digital Humanities Integration (C4DHI)" at the Institute of International Studies, Charles University and teaches new research methods in digital humanities at the BA and MA level.


BACKGROUND

Klára holds a BA in Area Studies and an MA in Area Studies with particular focus on Central Europe and the Balkans from Charles University.
