On November 20, 2019, the Large Conference Room of the Karolinum building hosted a seminar “Korean Peninsula - Global Implications Of Regional Conflict”.
The speakers discussed the prospects for peace on the Korean Peninsula following the Hanoi summit held in February, the meeting of the three leaders of the Republic of Korea, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the United States at the DMZ in June, and the Working-level talks between the US and DPRK held in Stockholm in October. They also talked about the current situation in the DPRK, US-China relations and the Korean Peninsula, Europe’s role in the peace process on the Korean Peninsula, as well as the Czech Republic’s perspective.
The event was organized by The Peace Research Center Prague and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Institute of Political Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University.
